The Annals of Langshan Mountain was unveiled in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 18.

The book is about the history, religion, culture, tourism, and natural environment of the five mountains – Junshan, Jianshan, Langshan, Ma'an, and Huangni – in Nantong, which are usually collectively referred to as Langshan Mountain, with its focus on ecological restoration and environmental protection since 2012.

The annals include 12 chapters of about 450,000 Chinese characters and more than 570 photos, which record major events that happened in the five mountains areas from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) to 2022.

Langshan Mountain, one of eight renowned Buddhist mountains in China, enjoys a long history. Since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), people have been compiling annals for the five mountains, laying a sound foundation for the publication of the new annals.

It took local authorities three years to complete the Annals of Langshan Mountain and in late 2022, the book was published by the Jiangsu People's Publishing House.

Another work, the Annals of Zhang Jian, which tells of the achievements of Zhang Jian, is currently being prepared and will be published soon. Zhang Jian (1853-1926), a renowned industrial magnate, educator, and scholar in Nantong, played a vital role in Nantong's development.
