Chongchuan enterprise secures order of refitting bulkers
Greentec Marine Engineering Co Ltd, which is based in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, secured an order of installing a rotating air duct machine onto a Newcastle bulk carrier in January.
Refitting the bulker, which is the first of its kind in the world, is a wind vane for the decarbonization of the global shipping industry, said Du Xinwei, the founder of Greentec Marine.
He added that the rotating air duct machine will save 20 percent of fuel oil. As a result, carrying out the project has attracted the attention of international shipping communities.
Greentec Marine will provide EPC service, including design, equipment procurement, as well as installation and commissioning, according to Du.
Du said securing the order is largely due to Greentec Marine efforts to pursue innovations in ship energy conservation and environmental protection technologies over the past few years. It will play a significant role in advancing Greentec Marine to undergo the green transformation of shipping, he added.
Greentec Marine, which excels in ship ballast water and tail gas desulfurization treatment systems, is a national enterprise above designated size and a provincial excellent technical service provider.
Greentec Marine signed contracts with many well-known shipowners to provide EPC services in terms of axle generators, hydrodynamic force, and air lubrication systems in 2022.
