Xipizha Bridge in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province was established in 1947.

The bridge's name originated from the Xipi Floodgate, which was built by Hendrik de Rijke, a hydraulic expert from the Netherlands, and is still operating until now.

The bridge used to be a three-hole wooden bridge. In 1969 it was reconstructed into a reinforced concrete bridge and in 1987 it was rebuilt into a bridge with 19 meters in width and 17 meters in length.

In the early 21st century, to alleviate the traffic pressure, local authorities renovated the Xipizha Bridge again, which is now capable of accommodating four vehicles going side by side.

To commemorate Rijke, a bronze statue of the hydraulic expert was built beside the bridge with his face towards the direction of Xipi Floodgate.

Under the bridge, there is a small garden where one can admire willows in spring, lotus flower in summer, red maple leaves in autumn, and falling snow flakes in winter.
