A large number of flowers at the Huamanyuan flower plantation in Shenxu village, Chengnan sub-district, Ruago, East China's Jiangsu province, are now in full bloom, creating some colorful winter scenery.

In recent years, Shenxu village of Chengnan sub-district has been taking advantage of Rugao's status as the "capital of flowers and bonsai" to develop the flower industry and bring in more income for villagers.

The Humanyuan flower planting base covers an area of 68 mu (4.53 hectares) and cultivates dozens of types of ornamental plants for urban landscape layout.

The plantation sells about a million pots of ornamental plants per year, generating 1 million yuan ($143,707) in annual revenue and providing jobs to more than 40 earby villagers.
