Nantong's economy shows steady growth in Jan-Oct

Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province saw stable economic growth in the first 10 months of the year, according to statistics from the Nantong municipal bureau of statistics.
The added value of industries above designated size in the city increased 4.8 percent year-on-year during the same period, 0.2 percentage points higher than the figure in the first nine months of the year.
The output value of large-and medium-sized industrial enterprises in Nantong grew 17.7 percent year-on-year, 8.3 percentage points higher than that of industries above designated size.
The operating revenue of the city's service providers above designated size totaled 84.05 billion yuan ($11.66 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7 percent.
Total retail sales of consumer goods in Nantong reached 331.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.3 percent and a 0.2 percentage points higher than the figure in the first nine months.
The city's fixed asset investment was down 2.8 percent while its investment in infrastructure jumped 16 percent year-on-year during the period.
The imports and exports of Nantong grew 13.2 percent year-on-year to 306.72 billion in the first 10 months of the year, 0.2 percentage points higher than the figure in the first nine months.
The city's trade with the EU, ASEAN, Japan, and the United States increased 16.6 percent, 13.8 percent, 11.5 percent, and 4.1 percent in the Jan-Oct period, while its trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative surged 21.4 percent year-on-year.
