Rudong sees robust foreign trade in Q1-3
The foreign trade value of Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, rose 44.4 percent year-on-year to 46.51 billion yuan ($6.59 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, ranking second in Nantong, official statistics show.
Specifically, imports totaled 31.15 billion yuan, up 57.9 percent year-on-year, while exports grew by 20.9 percent year-on-year to 15.36 billion yuan.
The import of equipment for key projects established in Yangkou ports had boosted the imports of Rudong. For example, the import value of advanced equipment for the Tongkun project exceeded 1.52 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year.
The export value of textile, chemical engineering, and electrical and mechanical industries in Rudong account for nearly 80 percent of the county's total.
To date, the county has over 500 enterprises involved in export business, including 160 enterprises with export values of over 10 million yuan.
