Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province held a kayaking competition in its city moat on Nov 6. 

About 100 people took part in the event. 

The competition comprised a single kayak race and a double kayak race. 

Yu Wenbin, a competitor who won the single kayaking event, noted that the competition highlights the charm of sports while showcasing the splendid scenery of the city's water networks.

Rugao will take advantage of its water and culture resources to further bolster the kayaking industry, which will be key to integrating sports with the culture and tourism industry, according to authorities.
