The 2022 China (Nantong) Jianghai Talent Entrepreneurship Week was held in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 8.

The opening ceremony was attended by university professors from home and abroad, unicorn enterprises, and venture capital investment institutions.

Wang Hui, Party secretary of Nantong, said at the ceremony that the city has continued upgrading its talent policies to create a more favorable environment for young people.

Nantong will also make efforts to provide a first-class business environment and a comfortable living environment for talent, added Wang.

Nantong mayor Wu Xinming invited more talent to start businesses in the city, as it is more eager than ever for high-caliber talent.

Fourteen other activities, including forums and project matchmaking meetings, will be held during the weeklong event.

This is the 12th year that Nantong has hosted the Jianghai Talent Entrepreneurship Week, which has seen the participation of more than 20,000 high-profile talents from 55 countries and regions.

Nantong is currently home to more than 1.45 million talents, including 116,000 high-caliber talents and nearly 500,000 highly skilled talents, and the city ranks 23rd nationwide in terms of innovation.
