Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province is inviting people to recommend the city's top 10 cultural icons.

The recommended cultural icons are required to represent the unique features of Nantong in terms of natural and cultural landscape, historical relics, food, intangible cultural heritage, renowned figures, and architecture.

In addition, they are required to play an important role and have a significant influence in the history of Nantong and be relatively well known.

Participants can send their nominations to ntsdwhbs2022@163.com by e-mail and attach their recommended words, names, and contact information from May 10 to June 10.

After June 10, the sponsors will select 50 outstanding entries and 50 lucky participants at random for prizes.

They will also launch an online poll for the best 20 entries and invite experts to select the top 10 cultural icons based on the results of the online poll.

The event is sponsored by local government, and organized by Nantong Daily Group.

With a brilliant and profound culture and long history, Nantong is recognized as a national historical and cultural city and one of the first coastal Chinese cities to open to the outside world.

Nantong is also home to numerous figures, including Zhang Jian (1853-1926), an industrial magnate and scholar, and seven Olympic champions.
