Haimen signs 17 project deals in Shanghai
Haimen district, Nantong held a promotional investment conference in Shanghai on Aug 31, where 17 project deals were signed.
The projects involve several emerging industries, including precision medical equipment, new materials, and robots, and received a combined total of nearly 30 billion yuan ($4.35 billion) in investment.
Over the past few years, Haimen has established partnerships with Huangpu, Minhang, Baoshan, Xuhui, and Chongming districts, as well as with several industrial parks in Shanghai, convincing a number of Shanghai-based State-owned companies to set up operations in the district.
The Haimen government has been working to optimize its policies and business environment in order to provide the best services to investors.
The district has also streamlined its administrative procedures, 98 percent of which have been moved online. A one-stop service window has been introduced, allowing businesses in other areas of the Yangtze River Delta region to receive services in Haimen.
Haimen has formed six major industrial clusters for home textiles, modern construction, electronic information, advanced equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, and new materials, respectively.
Officials have said that the district aims to cultivate three industrial clusters worth 100 billion yuan each and one cluster worth 50 billion yuan in the next three to five years.
