Robots ease labor shortages in Haimen
Robots have played an important role in helping companies in Zhengyu town resume operations amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, Nantong Daily reported on May 24.
To solve labor shortages caused by traffic controls during the outbreak, the local government talked with Nantong Zhenkang Machinery Co, a leading high-tech company in the town, to provide tailored solutions for businesses with a lack of workers.
The company has already developed an array of robots for construction equipment manufacturing, smoke and dust treatment, and welding, which have greatly improved production efficiency.
The town located in northeastern Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong was honored as a national-level research, development and manufacturing center for RV reducers, and is home to 16 companies involved in the R&D and manufacturing of key robotic parts such as reducers, motors, drivers, and controllers.
It produces all of its key parts completely independently and singlehandedly strengthened the robotics industry.
