International hydrogen fuel cell vehicle event opens

The 4th International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Congress -- FCVC 2019 -- kicked off in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 26.

More than 1,500 dignitaries are participating in the three-day event.

Organizers said that over 110 companies engaged in the hydrogen energy and fuel cell sectors are displaying their newest products and technologies.

Addressing the conference Zhang Jinhua, executive vice-chairman and secretary-general of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, said that the event is focusing on the market applications of hydrogen fuel cell technology, fuel cell stacks and key components, hydrogen storage technology, hydrogen energy infrastructure construction, investment in the sector, related policies and more.

Zhang added that his organization would give every support to the development of the country's hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicles.

Nantong's Mayor Xu Huimin told the conference that the concept of green, low-carbon and sustainable development had gained global consensus.

Xu said the new energy industry has presented new trends such as diversification, intelligence and cross-border integration.

Nantong is accelerating its development in the hydrogen energy sector and improving the industrial chain of its hydrogen production, storage and applications. It aims to develop into a hydrogen industrial base with global competitiveness and influence, Xu said.

A plan for implementing the integrated development of fuel cell vehicles in the Yangtze River Delta region from 2020 to 2022 was launched at the congress.

The congress, running to Sept 28, also includes a test drive activity and an exhibition.
