Haimen-based Suho Whole Foods has been selected as one of 43 provincial-level Xingchuang Tiandi makerspaces in Jiangsu province, according to local media.

Makerspaces are places where people with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can meet to work together on projects while swapping ideas, knowledge as well as equipment.

Officials said it was the only company located in Nantong that made on the list.

Xingchuang Tiandi is a makerspace focusing on the development of modern agriculture approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

It aims to promote low cost, specialization, facilitation and the informatization of rural innovation and entrepreneurship.

The company targets doing this through market-based mechanisms, specialized services and capitalized operation methods -- using offline incubation carriers and online network platforms to gather innovative resources and entrepreneurial elements.
