A Japanese bonsai masters’ museum officially opened in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on June 5.

A seminar on Sino-Japanese bonsai culture was held during the opening ceremony, with more than 30 bonsai masters from China and Japan taking part.

Founded by the Rugao World of Plantings and top Japanese bonsai masters, the museum is expected to serve as a key platform for showcasing and discussing the country’s bonsai art.

In recent years, the World of Plantings has been taking advantage of the integrative development of the Yangtze River Delta region to promote industrial transformation and development.

It aims to build itself into a large town with multiple industries, including agriculture, tourism, culture, and healthcare, within the next three to five years.
