20,000 TEU container ship makes debut in Nantong

A 20,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container ship, with cutting-edge technology protected by independent intellectual property rights, was delivered in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province on March 1.
The COSCO Shipping Aquarius, built by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co (NACKS), a joint venture between China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, is 400 meters long, 58.6 m wide and 30.7 ms deep, with its deck area even larger than four standard soccer stadiums.
With the latest in green design concepts, the ship boasts an impressive array of technical features, including a large loading capacity, low fuel consumption and highly intelligent operational capabilities.
