The Lin-gang Special Area Administration also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with East China Normal University to establish an East China Normal University (Lin-gang Special Area) Institute, which will focus on precision sensing, chip manufacturing, artificial intelligence, system testing and other key technological fields.

According to Tang Hao, director of the division of development and reform at the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, it is estimated that the total industrial output value of the area will exceed 500 billion yuan by 2025 -- which will create a new set of pressing demands for the training and recruitment of top staff.

"It is hoped that with the construction of the national industry and education integration pilot core zone, the demand for talent in the future development of Lin-gang can be better solved and new examples be provided for the deep integration of industry and education in the country," Tang added.
