The number of outbound ships and people at Yangshan port increased by about 10 percent year-on-year from Oct 1 - 8, according to statistics from Yangshan Immigration Inspection.

In order to improve the efficiency of port clearance during the third China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, Shanghai Immigration Inspection has piloted the first intelligent terminal for Shanghai ports at the border inspection office of Xiaoyangshan Island.

The terminal, along with the platform launched by the National Immigration Administration (NIA), is part of a newly integrated online and offline seaport border inspection service. It allows for port inspections to be carried out online and without the need for personnel.

The intelligent terminal can print applications for common administrative licenses and entry and exit records, and also provides information related to entry and exit records.

Relevant personnel can apply online via the NIA platform and use their ID card to pass through immigration. It takes only a few minutes to process and print border inspection administrative licenses.
