Shanghai Market Supervision and Administration Bureau announced on April 21 that the process of establishing enterprises in Shanghai has been made fully electronic.

The electronic registration process of starting a business is based on another innovative move two years ago – the "access via one website" system. Through the website, a business license can be obtained in as few as two days.

The "access via one website" facilitates the submission of start-up materials, but there is still one problem – the application of electronic seals still needs a paper license and a physical seal.

Starting from this month, with the whole process of starting a business going online, from submitting application materials to downloading electronic business licenses and seals, the last problem has been solved.

Shanghai is the first city in China to issue electronic licenses and electronic seals at the same time, reversing the traditional process of carving a physical seal to start a business.
