Shanghai online service platform set for upgrade

en.lgxc.gov.cn| Updated: Apr 15, 2020 L M S

Shanghai has been improving its online platform for government services, which enables access through one website and remote processing for more than two years. The platform has become the "gold brand" for the government to serve the public and enterprises.

Official data shows that the platform has access to 2,312 service items, and will add access to 500 public service items in 2020.

According to officials, the platform will further simplify its processes this year. In the process of carrying out government affairs services and implementing supervision and law enforcement, through informing commitment, application of electronic certificates and licenses, verification of data sharing and administrative assistance, it is implemented that "all materials issued by municipal government departments are exempted from submission in principle; those who can provide electronic certificates and licenses will no longer submit physical certificates and licenses in principle".

Also, Shanghai will further upgrade and transform its work flow this year to make government services more accessible. More barriers will be removed to link data from various bodies.

The mobile terminal of the platform, Suishenban, will integrate 67 mobile terminals of all municipal departments in the city. Currently, the mobile terminal services of 10 departments have been integrated.

"In the future, citizens will be able to do things without using other government apps, just using Suishenban," said an official from the city's big data center.

In addition, artificial intelligence will also be used to make government services smarter.
