New mechanism of automobile quality certification reaches consensus in Pudong

China Quality Certification Center, Shanghai Market Supervision Bureau and China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SHFTZ) signed an MOU on July 7 to jointly promote an international cooperation and quality certification service for automobile industry development, and reached a consensus on optimizing the vehicle quality certification mechanism in the SHFTZ.

In the future, all parties will build an import and export vehicle detection laboratory in SHFTZ, optimize the CCC certification (China Compulsory Certification) process of vehicle manufacturing enterprises, deepen international cooperation in product certification, and promote the high quality development of Shanghai's automobile industry.

The pilot project of "issuing certificates first, then examining" will greatly save time costs for Tesla and other enterprises, and will also attract more automobile enterprises to settle in Pudong.

At the same time, the CCC Center and Shanghai Market Supervision Bureau will support Pudong New Area to set up a general service window for import vehicle testing and certification in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone to speed up product certification and access.
