Lin-gang Special Area signs nearly 100 projects in 100 days after its establishment

Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone was officially unveiled on Aug 20, 2019. Its 100th day of operations was Nov 28, 2019.

Since its unveiling, a variety of industrial projects have flocked in and settled there. The clustering of high-end industrial projects and corporate headquarters in Lin-gang Special Area is accelerating. Industrial, financial, talent and housing policies have been launched successively. The area is soaring toward being a special economic zone with strong influence and global competitiveness.

I. Infrastructure construction

Develop transport first and achieve city-industry integration.

There will be three expressways in Lin-gang Special Area in the future.

At present, the special area has Metro Line 16. In the future, there will be a line from Lin-gang Special Area to Pudong International Airport. The extension of Line 18 will also connect to Lin-gang Special Area.

Sept 29, 2019

The construction of Highway S2 and Haigang Avenue Overpass Ramps started.

  • Total investment: over 400 million yuan ($57 million)

  • Planned construction period: 15 months

  • The two new ramps will improve the distribution of entrances and exits along Highway S2, relieving traffic pressure on Shengang Avenue Ramp, as well as strengthening external traffic connections to Lin-gang Special Area's main urban area and southern area.

Oct 20, 2019

The pilot Project of Lianggang Avenue's Upgrade to Expressway started.

When Lianggang Avenue is upgraded to an expressway, it will share the traffic pressure on Highway S2 and connect to Highway S3, providing transport support for Lin-gang Special Area to function as an international hub city facing the Asia Pacific and an independent comprehensive nodal city.

Oct 28, 2019

Construction of Highway S3 (S20-Zhoudeng Highway) South Extension started.

It is expected to be completed in 2021.

In the future, it will take only 40 minutes to drive from Lin-gang Special Area to Lujiazui.
