When can I apply for legal aid?

You can apply for legal aid if you are involved in civil or criminal cases which involve
(1) State compensation;
(2) Social insurance or subsistence allowance;
(3) Pension or benefit payment;
(4) Parental support, child support or alimony;
(5) Work payment;
(6) Civil rights and interests for good Samaritan protection;
(7) Work-related injury (limited to migrant workers);
(8) Other state or provincial regulations.
You can apply for legal aid if you are involved in criminal cases in which you are
(1) The suspect or the person charged and cannot afford legal representation due to financial difficulties;
(2) The victim of a public prosecution case, and you or your legal representative or your near relative cannot afford legal representation due to financial difficulties;
(3) A private prosecutor and you or your legal representative cannot afford legal representation due to financial difficulties.
