A legal aid worker counsels a juvenile offender.

Lawyers gave lectures to the offenders and answered their questions about whether they could apply for loans or find employment.

The move was part of the correctional center's efforts to improve the juvenile offenders'legal knowledge.

Wang Changzhen, vice-director of the reform school, said, "We invited legal experts because we want to further enhance their legal awareness, calm down their emotions and improve their willingness to receive guidance."

The legal aid station was unveiled at the correctional center as a result of cooperation between the provincial bureau of prison administration and the Jinan bureau of justice.

Li Juerui, director of the correctional center, said, "This is the first service of its kind at the provincial prisons. It will defend juvenile offenders' rights and interests and serve as another guarantee for improvement of the quality of correction."
