Joint meeting system established to improve legal aid in Chizhou, Anhui

A joint meeting system has been established in Chizhou, Anhui province to improve the efficiency and quality of legal aid in criminal cases.
The system was organized by the city's bureau of justice. Its members include the city's intermediate court, procuratorate, bureau of public security and detention house, as well as Jiuhua Law Firm. The joint meeting will usually be convened once a year and temporary meetings will be held if necessary.
Members propose topics they want to discuss and the results will be distributed in the form of proceedings. They are also urged to fulfill their legal aid duties and propose suggestions according to the Criminal Procedure Law and relevant normative documents. At the end of each quarter, legal aid stations are required to submit statistics and reports about their work to the city's legal aid center.
