Staff at China Pharmaceutical University claimed to have discovered the holy grail of Chinese cuisine this Mid-Autumn Festival: A mooncake that is both tasty and healthy.

Mooncakes are a must-have snack for most Chinese at Mid-Autumn Festival, with consumers buying up millions upon millions of the little round cakes ahead of the holiday, which this year fell on Oct 4, each year.

Though delicious, many people have mixed feelings about eating mooncakes during the holiday: The dense little cakes are notoriously fattening, with many having calorie counts of 1,000 or more.

But this year, Wang Qiu, a teacher at China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, found a solution for her students.
