Jiangsu university creates special TCM mooncakes

She created a range of green and yellow mooncakes that were not only low in fat, but contained a range of ingredients used in traditional Chinese medicine that she claimed would provide consumers with a mid-autumn health boost. 

“We have added some traditional Chinese medicinal materials to help balance the dry autumn weather and nourish the human body, such as yam, chestnut, lotus seed, lycium, gorgon fruit, and pine nut,” said Wang. 

What’s more, Wang’s mooncakes also taste delicious. The teacher’s green and gold snacks sold like hotcakes through September.
