The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently started a selection activity for the top 100 tourist attractions along the Yangtze River in the province, and 10 from Wuxi were added to the list.
The listed Wuxi attractions were divided into natural landscape (two), historical and cultural landscape (three), Red culture-themed landscape (one), and attractions showcasing development in the new era (four).

One of the listed natural landscapes is the Yaogangkou Provincial Wetland Park in Jiangying, a county-level city in Wuxi. Covering an area of 1,500 mu (100 hectares), the park boasts seven kilometers of riverbank of the Yangtze River blanketed with reeds that protect the water quality of the Yangtze River, wildlife and the wetland plants.

Among the listed historical and cultural landscapes is Meili Ancient Town, the birthplace of Wu culture. The architecture in the ancient town combines traditional Chinese characteristics, folk customs and traditions of the Wu Culture. The Silk Workshop, Farming Garden, numerous plum trees and beautiful flowers can be found in the town, making it a vivid model of a waterside town in the Jiangnan region.
The four attractions showcasing development in the new era are Wuxi-Jiangyin Canal Park, prosperous Huaxi village in Jiangyin, beautiful Wusheng village in Yixing, and Lihu Lake in Binhu district.
