The Wuxi Marathon has been named the IAAF Silver Label Road Race by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
This is the third time a Chinese marathon has won this honor, and it makes the Wuxi Marathon the most prestigious marathon in Jiangsu province.
The Wuxi Marathon became the first full-length marathon to be held in Jiangsu province when it launched in 2014. Its route passes through many scenic spots and historic landmarks, making it one of the most picturesque marathon circuits in the world.
The Wuxi Marathon has received the Gold Label Road Race Award four times by the Chinese Athletic Association for its contributions to the development of marathons in China. The success of the Wuxi Marathon is just one example of how quickly marathons have been growing in popularity in China in recent years.
The 7th Wuxi Marathon will be held on Mar 22, 2020, and will open for registration on Dec 10. More people than ever before are expected to participate.
