After 40 games in five days, Taoyuan Aerotropolis from Taiwan grabbed the title beating the Jiangsu team in the last day's finals. The Taipei Highwealth Team took third place after a close game with the Shanghai Team who ranked fourth.
Compared to previous years the competition this year was much more intense following improvements by the home teams, which certainly got credit from some of the event organizers.
"The game level this year was awesome. The Chinese mainland's teams performed pretty well and showed great improvement," said Lin Zongcheng, secretary general of the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association.
Lin's counterpart, Chen Xu of the Chinese Baseball Association, also gave thumbs up to the performance of the event participants. He mentioned that the four Chinese mainland's teams appreciated the friendly match which allows them to test their strengths in real games before taking part later in the National Games.
