Wuxi Cultural Center is a public service center tasked with organizing public cultural and artistic activities, providing training for amateur artistic performers and researching public cultural arts.
It moved to a new complex in Xishuidun Cultural Park in 2000, consisting of training rooms, exhibition and multi-function halls, stages, offices and meeting rooms. A new artistic training center was built to serve the public in 2005.
Wuxi Cultural Center has undertaken many artistic activities, including the first China National Instrumental Music Festival in 1992, the closing ceremony of the fifth China National Dancing Competition in 2001, the sixth and seventh China Chorus Festivals in 2002 and 2003, the closing ceremony of the third China Wuxi International Taihu Expo in 2005, the China Wuxi Wu Cultural Festival and Taihu Art Festival.
It has formed a number of fixed activities in painting, calligraphy, photograph, traditional Chinese opera, and square artistic performances for the benefit of Wuxi residents.
