Shanjuan Cave is a fantastic cave located in Yixing, Wuxi, East China’s Jiangsu province. The trees traced backed to the age of dinosaurs, the world famous Yuantong Tower and the largest potting workshop in China can be seen in the scenic spot.
The cave is a delicate and splendid underground palace. It is about 800 meters in length and covers an area of about 5,000 square meters, consisting of the Upper, Middle, Lower and Water caves, which are connected with each other. There are many miraculous legends about the cave and a variety of marvelous and beautiful stalactites in different shapes.

Waterfall to the Lower Cave
The waterfall runs down along the cliff to the cave, while gurgling streams slowly converge in it. It looks like a natural landscape picture, which makes the Shanjuan Cave more beautiful.
Boating on the Water Cave
The Water Cave is a unique attraction in the scenic area. The river in the cave is six meters wide, with boats traveling on it the whole year. Visitors may have a view of the caveby boat. The water is as smooth as a mirror.
The purple clay culture
In the Yuantong Tower which is on the top of the mountain, there are 53 suspended purple clay statues of Avalokitesvara. These statues play a pioneer role in the integration of the Buddha culture with the purple clay art. Visitors can alsomake purple clay works by themselves.
