Food manufacturer Kerisom Food Biotechnology, located in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone, Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, is exploring a fresh path to galvanizing the food sector with new technology.
It is striving to bolster the high-end, digital and green development of products through enzymatic fermentation technology, digital technology and intelligent technology.
In 2019, Kerisom succeeded in establishing a national-level dairy technology innovation center and China's first provincial-level enzymatic dairy products engineering center.
This helped it to extend the deep processing industry supply chain for agricultural and animal husbandry products.
Last year, the company's cream product exports and cheese product exports accounted for 73.8 percent and 32.6 percent of the national total, respectively.
Dedicated efforts have also been made by Kerisom to innovate new processes and models that combine traditional production methods with new technologies.
By conducting digital and intelligent transformation, the company has realized the full process of information traceability. That is for sales order production progress tracking, production processes, production equipment, operators, consumables, production time and related process parameters.
It has also built a logistics distribution system to automate the product inbound and outbound processes and created a specialized transformer collection terminal system to achieve real-time monitoring of equipment energy consumption.
After digital and intelligent transformation, the company's labor costs have also significantly decreased, with the workshop production efficiency increasing by over 30 percent, the product defect rate reduced to 6 percent and the raw material utilization rate rising by over 5 percent.
