Xinghua city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, is promoting a four-level organizational system to galvanize the collaborative development of enterprises that are resident there.
The system involves a city level coordination mechanism, industry alliances, sub-industry alliances and key enterprises that will closely interact.
Manufacturer Maiken Jiadun (Jiangsu) Food is located in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone. The company recently brought its low-sugar food products to the 111th China Food and Drinks Fair, receiving a great deal of positive attention.
To meet market demand, the company moved quickly to develop its low-sugar Sachima product range.
Comprehending there were many food companies with research and development needs, the Party committee of the Xinghua Green and Health Food Industry Alliance hired a team of professors from Jiangnan University in Wuxi city, Jiangsu province, as service specialists to help the firms conduct new product development.
Currently, Xinghua is home to 712 food enterprises, including 604 small and micro enterprises.
Zhou Jian, deputy Party secretary of the Xinghua Green and Health Food Industry Alliance, said that to address the challenges faced by small and micro food enterprises, such as a shortage of professional laboratory technicians and high cost of delivery inspections, the alliance had fostered the construction of eight shared testing laboratories for key enterprises since last year.
The alliance is now collaborating with a local company to create a centralized procurement platform for seasoning and other food materials, in a bid to further help companies reduce costs and increase their operational efficiency.
