The 136th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, kicked off with great fanfare on Oct 15 in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.
The event, to be held in three phases from Oct 15 to Nov 4, is themed this year on "serving high-quality development, promoting high-level opening-up" and features over 30,000 exhibitors showing 1.15 million new products.
A total of 34 companies from the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone are participating in on-site exhibitions, occupying 48 stands. Indeed, records have been set for the number of participating companies and the size of their exhibition area.
The first phase of the fair, running from Oct 15-19, focuses on advanced manufacturing. A dozen companies from the zone are involved in the first phase, covering hardware, tools, power and electrical equipment, general machinery and mechanical basic components, motorcycles and automotive parts.
One of participating companies is Source One International, a leading outdoor brand enterprise whose products are mainly exported to the North American market.
On the first day of the fair, the company met with success, generating transactions worth more than $1 million.
