Xuzhuang subdistrict, located in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is launching its first national health night market, which will take place from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Aug 26-27.
The community-driven initiative features seven interactive zones, including a health consultation area, a traditional Chinese medicine or TCM treatment zone and a first aid training space.
Visitors are able to receive free health check-ups – including blood pressure and blood sugar tests – and enjoy traditional herbal teas.
There are 120 consultation slots available each day, with 40 dedicated to TCM treatments. Attendees can explore traditional therapies like cupping and gua sha massage and participate in interactive demonstrations to learn essential emergency skills such as CPR or cardiac chest massage.
On Aug 26, visitors can sample herbal drinks like sour plum soup, while the following day features engaging activities, including a prize-winning interactive game. The event aims to raise health awareness and educate the public about traditional Chinese medicine, making it a unique opportunity for community wellness and engagement.
