Amid the scorching summer, officials at the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province – have taken steps to help frontline workers endure the extreme heat.
Hang Huidong, deputy director of the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone Management Committee, recently led a delegation to visit several companies in the area.
They included Yifeng Pharmacy Chain Co Ltd, Jiangsu Baining Yingchuang Medical Technology Co Ltd and the Taizhou branch of Great Wall Automobile Co Ltd.

The officials engaged in friendly conversations with the workers and distributed summer care packages filled with cooling supplies, mineral water and fruit.
Hang emphasized the importance of balancing work and rest, and urged workers to take necessary precautions against the heat.
During the visits, Hang also met with company executives to discuss business operations and address any challenges they may face. He stressed the need for companies to prioritize workers' well-being by implementing effective heat prevention measures, to ensure that workers can work comfortably and safely during the summer months.
The initiative is said to demonstrate the local government's commitment to supporting both businesses and workers during the challenging summer months.
