Two industrial projects in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – have been classified as major provincial projects in the current year.
That's according to the List of Major Industrial Projects in Jiangsu Province in 2023 which was released recently.
One project is a special alloy plant for military aerospace use being funded by Shanghai Taiyang Technology Co Ltd, costing 800 million yuan ($116.52 million).
It will have a floor space of about 47,900 square meters and introduce about 200 sets of equipment, such as an automatic TY500 casting machine and a hot and cold rolling mill.
When ramped up to design capacity, the annual output of beryllium copper alloy is projected to be 7,500 metric tons, with 2,500 tons of beryllium aluminum alloy.
The other project is a smart logistics hub being funded by Shenzhen International Logistics Development Co Ltd, with total investment of $90 million.

With a planned construction area of 139,441 sq m, the project aims to construct a smart supply chain industrial park – integrating a vendor managed inventory logistics center, a smart cloud warehouse center, cold chain industry center, a supply chain finance and accounts settlement center and other features.
When it starts running, it will serve the biomedicines sector, automobiles and parts and other leading industries in the zone and speed up the move by Taizhou's supply chain system towards intelligent development.
