The Taixing Economic Development Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, held a lecture on March 28 that examined the subjects of stabilizing foreign trade, optimizing services and bolstering development.
The event gathered experts from bonded zones, customs, hazardous chemical logistics, financial institutions and business representatives from over 30 key foreign trade enterprises in the area.
Pan Mingrong, deputy secretary of the zone's Party working committee, said that as the main area for the development of the city's open economy, the Taixing EDZ continued to optimize its comprehensive service guarantees such as efficient logistics transportation and convenient customs clearances.
The zone's total import and export volume last year increased by 8.2 percent year-on-year and was expected to grow by 8.8 percent in the first quarter of this year, Pan said.
During the event, practical guidance was also given to support enterprises in policy protection, services upgrades, improving finances, and more.
Taizhou Customs, for example, interpreted the "Compliance Guidelines for Customs Supervision of Import and Export Enterprises", providing advice for enterprises on how to avoid customs clearance risks and improve their efficiency.
Some logistics enterprises shared their expertise and experience in multimodal transport, customized shipping systems and other areas to help businesses to reduce their costs and increase efficiency.
