A signing ceremony was held on March 13 for the planned Large-scale Energy Storage Ecological Technology Industrial Park, which will settle in the Taixing Economic Development Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province.
It's being built to drive the development of the new energy and energy storage sectors there.

The park will include subcategories of an industrialization and research institute project of new energy materials.
It will also include an energy storage power station project, an energy storage system investment platform and its main component industrial park project.
Of these ventures, the institute project was launched earlier this year. In the area of new materials, high-efficiency and high selectivity green lithium extraction technology for lithium iron phosphate batteries has been successfully piloted.
The new industrial park is being funded by the Large-scale Energy Storage Ecological Innovation Consortium, which was established by Zhong Faping, director and chief scientist of the National Engineering Research Center of Advanced Energy Storage Materials.
