Government officials in Binjiang town, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, carried out voluntary tree planting activities on March 11 to contribute to the general spring greening and afforestation work in the area.
The tree planting site was in Dahezhuang village and the helpers showed great zeal in shoveling soil, filling pits and lifting water to irrigate saplings.
Through their combined efforts, more than 500 metasequoia trees were planted, creating beautiful scenery.
In recent years, Binjiang has come to regard afforestation as an important measure in its agricultural and rural work.
As a result, the forest coverage rate of the town has steadily increased and the environment has been further optimized.
In 2025, the town plans to increase the forest area by 5.33 hectares, implement 5 kilometers of river greening, add 2 km of road greening and create one city-level green and beautiful village.
