Manufacturers based in the Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – are upgrading their equipment and infrastructure and moving towards green development.
The world's biggest acetate production plant – operated by Taixing Jinjiang Chemical Industry Co Ltd in the zone – has in recent years continued to explore the circular economy development model, with resources used to maximum utility throughout their life cycle and regenerated in a cyclical pattern minimizing waste.
Last year, the company implemented an equipment technical renovation project, which is estimated to save 7,900 metric tons of standard coal annually.
In recent years, the Taixing bureau of industry and information technology has introduced initiatives to promote the green transformation of local business enterprises, including organizing centralized training and hiring experts for on-site guidance.
Under their advice, SP Chemicals (Taixing) Co Ltd implemented the technical transformation of its chlor alkali plant, reducing the amount of circulating water and chilled water and saving 2,531 tons of standard coal in energy per annum.
Since 2022, Taixing has completed 106 energy-saving and carbon-reduction technology renovation projects, integrating energy savings of 462,000 tons of standard coal.
