Zhu Weixiang, secretary of the Party working committee of the Taixing Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – declared recently that he would resolutely advance projects, improve industrial efficiency and promote stable development.
In terms of project development, the zone follows the principle of balancing quantity and quality and strives to attract heavyweight and influential projects.
The zone is moving to attract more high-end international industries and high-quality projects through high-energy open platforms – including the China-Japan New Materials Industrial Park and the China-Israel Cooperation Innovation Park.
Zhu said that the zone would move along a new path of industrial upgrades with a daring attitude.
The zone is aiming to achieve a production value of over 150 billion yuan ($20.74 billion) in the fine chemicals and new materials industries and over 50 billion yuan in the pharmaceuticals and daily chemical industries by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).
Leveraging its current advantages in raw materials and resources – including electronics chemicals and industrial by-product hydrogen – the zone plans to develop six growth-oriented future industries. They are third-generation semiconductors, cutting-edge new materials, zero carbon negative carbon, synthetic biology, hydrogen energy and new energy storage.
The goal is for the zone to become a leading national area for future industrial development within five to seven years.
Moreover, efforts will also be made to efficiently accomplish tasks and strengthen one-stop and full process tracking services for projects. This is expected to help create a market-oriented, legal, and first-class international business environment.
