The Taixing Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province – has kept its foot on the gas pedal since the start of the year, advancing the construction of key projects.
One of them is a new precious metals catalyst plant, to be operated by Tongren New Material (Jiangsu) Co Ltd, where decorations to the exterior facade of the building are currently underway.
With a total investment of 526 million yuan ($73.16 million), the facility will produce 600 metric tons of precious metals catalysts annually and recycle 2,500 tons of waste precious metals catalysts. At full capacity, the plant is expected to generate annual invoiced sales of 1.27 billion yuan.
Right on course since the start of the build-out in September last year, the plant is scheduled to be completed by May.
Elsewhere, manufacturer Apical Oleochemical (Taixing) Co Ltd is steaming ahead with the second phase of an integrated oleochemicals production plant.
Phase one cost $460 million and was completed last year – mainly producing fatty acids, hydrogenated oil, oleic acid and glycerol.
Overall, the Taixing EDZ is prioritizing the rapid construction and production of major projects in 2024.
Plans are to sign up 30 new projects worth over 100 million yuan each throughout the year, as well as to break ground and complete over 16 and 11 projects worth over 500 million yuan each, respectively.
