Plans were recently unveiled for a provincial-level engineering center to be erected in the Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province.
The construction plans were released by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and it will be built and operated by Runtai Chemical (Taixing) Co Ltd, a company in the zone.
As a national high-tech company, Runtai Chemical is known for its film-forming agent for water-based coatings.
Last year, the domestic market share of the product was an estimated 30 percent and its international market share was 17 percent.
The company has led the development of a single industry standard and participated in the revision of a single national standard. It has also applied for and obtained 39 invention patents and 43 utility model patents based on its leading products.
Currently, there are a total of 38 provincial-level engineering research centers in Taixing.
