Local enterprises in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province, have benefited from the newly opened Jinyan storage liquid chemicals wharf - located in the shipping operations area of the feeder facility for Taizhou Port.
The new wharf passed its approval process conducted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce on Jan 22.
Local enterprise Apical Oleochemical (Taixing) Co Ltd is an example of a company that has benefited, with its shipment recently of imported raw materials from Indonesia.
The freight ship docked at the Jinyan storage liquid chemicals wharf and completed loading and unloading of 5,200 metric tons of palm stearin and 6,000 tons of fatty acids in just two days.

An executive from another client company was equally enthusiastic. "The wharf opened just in time so that the materials managed to make it," said Wang Meng, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Port Group Co Ltd, based in Taixing – the county level city that is administered by Taizhou.
An oil industry integration project – being implemented by Wang's company – is a major provincial project, with a planned aggregate investment of $460 million and an annual output of 1.08 million tons of oil products.
Feng Tao, deputy director of port office of the Taixing Bureau of Commerce, said that the wharf allows nearby enterprises to connect directly with the international market.
It has been 30 years since Taizhou Port opened in 1992. To date, a great deal of infrastructure has been installed there. The Jinyan storage liquid chemicals wharf is the only one, however, approved in Taizhou city in the last 10 years, with an investment of 316 million yuan ($45.95 million).
Encouraging new wharves to be installed is one of the most recent priorities adopted by the Taizhou government to optimize its business environment.
