Taixing city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, has been promoting the matchmaking of enterprises and villages to boost the integration of capital and resources.
Garment manufacturer Meixian Clothing settled in Xingning community in Guangling town in 2019. To date, the company has recruited over 120 workers, with 80 percent being residents of the community.
Xingning boasts rich resources in Red culture, so the community cooperated with enterprises to invest nearly 100,000 yuan ($14,045) to build the Xingning Community Village History Museum in 2021.
With the increasing development of rural industries, forms of the co-construction of villages and enterprises have been enhanced through industrial participation in Taixing.
Through joint construction, farmers in Yaowang sub-district provide crabs to enterprises and the enterprises process the raw materials.
Several villages in Yaowang sub-district have cooperated with enterprises, contributing to the sales of river crabs in each village exceeding 3 million yuan and the collective income of each village exceeding 1.1 million yuan.
Within this year, it is estimated that Taixing will be home to 120 villages with collective operating income of over 1 million yuan each, accounting for 80 percent of the city's total number of villages.
