With the Spring Festival almost here, Qixiang village – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – will hold a series of activities called "Ten Thousand People Celebrating the Chinese New Year in Qixiang" to add to the festive vibe.
The activities, from Spring Festival Eve on Feb 9 to the Lantern Festival on Feb 24, include a bonfire party, a New Year market fair and a fireworks show, among others.
Qixiang village has recently been very busy preparing to set up the various event venues.
"We went to Guangdong and Zhejiang province to purchase a large amount of materials to decorate our villages and scenic spots," said Ding Zhengbing, deputy general manager of Taixing Huangqiao Nanhu Tourism Development Co Ltd.
He added that there were now over 2,000 lanterns of various colors in place, contributing to nearly 20,000 meters of illuminated lighting strips.
