Since the start of the year, Taixing city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, has invited the Jiangsu Chemical Industry Association to conduct a "one enterprise, one policy" high-quality development diagnosis for chemical enterprises.
By so doing, it's aiming to help the manufacturers clarify their development plans and pave the way for transformations and upgrades.
With the gradual recovery of the industry, chemical manufacturers have seized policy opportunities to accelerate the upgrading and transformation of product structures, production facilities and processing conditions.
On Aug 25, experts from the association carefully inspected the potassium hydroxide production facility at manufacturer Jiangsu OCI Chemical, located in Taixing's Binjiang town, and proposed suggestions for optimizing its product structure.
In March, the company invested over 4 million yuan ($566,800) to build a dechlorination tower facility, which conducts benign treatments of dilute sulfuric acid and comprehensive utilization of resources.

In addition, the recycled use of chlorine is being suggested in the Taixing Economic Development Zone. Three resident companies, namely SP Chemicals (Taixing), Nouryon Chloroacetic acid chemical (Taixing) and Taixing Yangtze Pharm Chemical, have achieved the reusing of chlorine through public pipeline transportation.
Their annual recycling of chlorine has now hit 20,000 metric tons, which will increase their total income by an estimated 20 million yuan per annum and reduce the disposal of waste salt by 30,000 tons.
