In response to the provincial policy of rural construction, the county-level city of Taixing – under the jurisdiction of Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – has acted, in a series of moves that have yielded very fruitful results.
Qixiang village in Huangqiao town is seen as a prime example of the beneficiaries of Taixing's measures.
In the wake of three industrial upgrades, Qixiang village is now developing its research and training industry.
The village's youth comprehensive practice center, with a floor space of over 10,000 square meters, has adopted various methods such as display boards, videos, VR and AR – endearing it to young people.
An agricultural culture park, an education hall, the youth practice base, a national defense education park and other facilities can nowadays be seen in the village.
Last year, the collective operating income of Qixiang village was 2.29 million yuan ($313,041), while the per capita disposable income of farmers reached 31,848 yuan.
