The Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, was recently included in the first provincial pilot list for places that are going for peak carbon and carbon neutrality.
China aims to realize the targets of peak carbon and carbon neutrality by 2030 and 2060, respectively.
To date, dedicated efforts have been made by the zone to promote its green practices.
It has actively promoted the utilization of renewable energy such as solar power, urging business enterprises to adopt clean energy and transform towards green and low-carbon development to reduce carbon emissions.
Through intelligent management, the zone has achieved efficient energy utilization and refined management, reducing energy consumption and improving energy efficiency.
By planting trees and conducting afforestation, the zone has also witnessed the improvement of its ecosystem and ecological service functions.
In addition, in the process of creating a peak carbon and carbon neutral pilot economic development area, the zone has continued to explore new paths for green and low-carbon development.
By highlighting the development of the low-carbon, ecological and circular economy, the zone is seen as striving for a high degree of unity in economic, social and ecological benefits, through waste exchanges, circular utilization, clean production and other means.
Overall, the goal is for the zone to build a "near zero carbon zone", characterized by resource conservation, low-carbon development, materials recycling and eco-friendliness.
